Alvin Bowser joined Employers Health Network in December of 2019 as Vice President of Network Operations with a focus on enhancing and scaling operations for growth. In July 2021, Alvin Bowser assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of EHN to advance the company’s operations strategy to support our mission and vision.
Prior to joining EHN, Alvin served as Vice President of Network Operations for HealthSmart Preferred Care in Irving, Texas a national PPO network and a leader in medical cost containment solutions serving TPAs and self-funded employers. Alvin was responsible for the overall operational network strategy, service delivery, claims, customer service, data management, and pre-sales analytics for a book of business consisting of over 3.4M members.
Prior to joining HealthSmart, Alvin served as Vice President of Operations for Ecom PPO Advisors (Ecom) in Dallas, Texas an entrepreneurial startup that provided analytics, BPO services and cost containment solutions to self-funded employers, Taft-Hartley plans, and TPA’s. Alvin led client service, claims operations, pre-sale analytics, and vendor partner management.
Alvin’s career spans over 30 years in various senior operational leadership roles in the commercial healthcare cost containment space.
Alvin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Dallas.
